The Light

Matthew 5:16  You are the Light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid.

That is the place where we are to shine. We are to reflect the Light of Jesus. Why the world?Because that is where the darkness is. That is where people are stumbling, groping for something but they don’t know what and they are falling deeper into darkness all the time. That is where the chaos is. That is where they are living in danger, the danger of spending eternity, separated from God. Some see it and some don’t and some choose to ignore they are in the dark. Still others love the darkness rather than the light because they prefer their sin and evil. (John 3:19)

The light is supposed to be seen. There are many purposes for the light but the brighter the light the more it fulfills and purpose it is used for. A weak light can sometimes be more frustrating than having no light at all. It is usually because it is low on energy. The power is low. We get our evergy to shine by being plugged into the source. Not for just a little while or only now and then but constantly. A light can become so weak it is of no use.

There are times when everyone wants light—at least for some time. They seek it out; admire it; walk in it; reap its benefits; joy in it and suggest its use. We need to have a very clear light that is free from coloring and anything that will dim of obstruct it’s brightness.

Let your light so shine. We are to turn it on, turn it up and don’t cover it up. Let it be seen. Why? To show good works to the world, but being careful that our purpose is to glorify our Father in Heaven. Let God be glorified . That is our Supreme reason. That should be our primary goal.

We should Shining for Jesus and glorifying our Father in Heaven. We should be out in the world, into the darkness where we should turn up the light.

Ephesians 5:12  And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.

Don’t really have to do anything but shine!
