Where’s Your Trust
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Do you trust God? Of course you do, right? But do you trust Him more than you trust yourself?
The reality is, while I say that I trust in the LORD, I often find myself making decisions and taking action based on my own understanding of the situation. Too often, I decide what’s best for me. The problem is, I don’t know what’s best for me! Only He does…
When it comes to the day-to-day choices and long-term decisions that make up my life, either I’m in the driver’s seat, or He is. That’s where trust is revealed. I can say that I trust Him, but if I’m calling the shots, then I really don’t. Trusting in the LORD means that I’ll be called upon to take steps that go against my own instincts and reasoning. I’ll do things that I wouldn’t do on my own. My life will move in a direction that is not of my own choosing. In short… He will direct my paths!
