Moving to Online Only
To our Desert Light family… Until further notice, we will not be opening the church for services or other activities in order to do our part to help contain the spread of COVID-19.
In the meantime, we will begin to livestream all of our church services at their regularly scheduled times right here on our Facebook page. Please join us online for worship and the Word at the following times:
Sunday – 9:30 AM
Wed / Sat – 6:30 PM
In addition, women’s bible studies will continue online as well. We will be teaching our bible study leaders how to stream live on Facebook so they can continue to study God’s Word with you from their own homes. You’ll be able to see and hear the teacher and even participate with questions and comments through the Facebook interface.
We’re working on something similar for our Sunday School and Youth Group kids. As we have more information, we’ll post it here for everyone. Please check in with this page frequently as we’ll be updating often.
What a joy it is to be able to continue as a church family during this time of isolation through the gift of technology! We encourage you to reach out to those in our family that do not have internet access and maybe invite them to join you during services and studies. At the same time, please keep those gatherings small. The most recent recommendation suggested no more than 10 people together in small group settings.
God has not given us a spirit of fear. We may be inconvenienced by these adjustments that all of us are making in our day-to-day lives, but I pray that you’ll see opportunities to be light to those around you. Check up on elderly neighbors and friends… Spend more time with your family in the Word together… Reach out online or via phone & text to encourage and pray for others. This truly is an opportunity for the people of God to shine!
We are praying for you, the church body, and ask that you all are praying for each other and our community. Above all, remember…
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
